Simulation assistance inside the CAD workspace

SimScale announced an engineering AI agent for Onshape. According to the vendor, it can propose simulation setup, prepare geometry, run physics calculations and explain results. Engineers can review assumptions and adjust boundary conditions. Users must enable the Onshape app.

MST perspective: earlier feedback needs clear assumptions

Receiving simulation feedback while developing a model can support design comparisons. Engineers still need to understand the question being tested and the conditions under which a result applies.

What to check in a trial

Choose a representative design change and a known comparison case. Review materials, loads, constraints and the reported result. Count the time needed to prepare, inspect and correct the study. The announcement describes the vendor’s capability; it is not an MST benchmark or approval of a particular design.
